Established in 1965, Plate & Steel Industries specialised in heavy steel fabrication. From these roots grew a comprehensive knowledge of the engineering industry, and the company gradually moved its focus to plate supply and processing.

1965

Plate & Steel Industries was established by George Braden in Murdoch Street, Clayton and gradually moves away from its roots in heavy plate fabrication to plate supply and processing.

1967

Graham Braden joined his father to help grow the plate processing business to include more Oxy Fuel Electric Trace Profile Cutting machines.

1979

Plate & Steel Industries relocated to Century Drive, Braeside.

1986

Another two Oxy Fuel Multi Head Profile Cutting Machines were installed together with the latest CNC Controllers.

1988

Three large Surface Grinding machines installed to cater for the tool making and automotive industries.

2003

Tim Braden commenced employment with Plate & Steel Industries, becoming the third generation to take on a role within the business.

2005

Plate & Steel Industries commissioned its first Kinetic CNC Plasma Profile Cutting Machine.

2009

Recognising a need within the industry, Plate & Steel Industries diversified to include CNC Press Brake capability.

2009

Plate & Steel Industries commissioned another Kinetic K4000 Combination Plasma Cutting, Milling & Drilling Machine that enabled us to offer drilling, tapping, countersinking, counterboring and contour bevelling.

2012

Large capacity Plate Rolls were installed to further expand the business’s Plate Forming capacity.

2022

Plate & Steel Industries was acquired by Sell and Parker Group. We became able to access the expertise and knowledge within our group of companies, including Sell & Parker, Precision Oxycut, Allthread Industries, and First Forge Australia, to offer complete solutions for projects 100% manufactured in house in Australia.

Today the company continues to combine the latest in steel profiling machinery and nesting software with multi-stage quality assurance checks and fast, reliable delivery.
